She is a Bodhisattva. Bodhi means wisdom or enlightenment; sattva means being or essence. Aphrodite was born from the life giving sea and caused quite a stir from in the Olympian times upon her arrival! She is the goddess of love, beauty and romance. In the Roman tradition, she is known as Venus.
As a sensual beauty irresistible to many, she was a force not to be reckoned with. Like the sea, she can be sensuous like the gentle ebb and flow of the waves. Yet at other times, she can be quite a storm!
While all the other gods and goddesses had lengthy lists of divine duties to perform, the goddess Aphrodite was assigned only one . . . to bring love into the world!
The goddesses and women in her life wasn't close to her but they found her to be quite friendly and extraordinarily generous. She even went to the extent of loaning Hera her magic girdle to help her keep Zeus' wandering eyes where they belonged. Goddess Aphrodite was always ready to help both the deities and mortals to win the loves they sought.
